Detail information about job Research Fellow - Leverhulme Trust: Towards a Comprehensive Theory of Feedback Control for Chemical Reaction Networks (80476-087). Terms and conditions vacancy

Fixed term contract for 3 years. You will undertake research on an exciting new project funded by The Leverhulme Trust. You will assist the Principal Investigator and project partners in the successful execution of the project, by developing new mathematical tools, analytical design/analysis methods and computational software in order to develop a comprehensive theory of feedback control for chemical reaction networks. You will undertake independent and collaborative research and will be expected to write up the results of your research for publication. You will be expected to deal with any management/administration problems that may arise from the project and produce and present regular project reports ensuring that the project objectives and deadlines are met. You will have a developing research profile in the area of systems/control theory, mathematical modelling, or systems/synthetic biology, with the ability to publish high quality research outputs, and you will be able to contribute to the development of follow-on funding proposals. You will have excellent mathematical/analytical/computational skills, and ideally a good knowledge of chemical reaction networks. You will have excellent IT skills including demonstrable ability to use IT to write technical research papers and presentations. You are also required to be an excellent communicator with strong communication and interpersonal skills. If you have not yet been awarded your PhD but are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant on level 5 of the University grade structure. Upon successful award of your PhD and evidence of this fact, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of the level 6 of the University grade structure. If you have not yet been awarded your PhD but are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant on level 5 of the University grade structure (£28,453 pa). Upon successful award of your PhD and evidence of this fact, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of level 6 of the University grade structure (£29,301 pa).
