Detail information about job Postdoctoral Scientist – Leukaemia Biology Group. Terms and conditions vacancy

A 3 year position is available in the laboratory of Professor Tim Somervaille to investigate novel therapeutic targets in the therapy of haematological malignancies. Building on our recent success you will focus on the identification and evaluation of epigenetic regulators that are required for primary human leukaemia cells but which are not required for normal human haematopoietic stem and progenitor cells. You will take on and develop the laboratory’s genome-wide CRISPR screening work, to identify candidate therapeutic targets for further evaluation and potential drug development.

The successful applicant should have a PhD in Biomedical Sciences. A background in biochemistry, chromatin, epigenetics and/or leukaemia is desirable but not required.

Informal enquiries should be directed via email to [email protected].

The Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute (www.cruk.manchester.ac.uk), an Institute of The University of Manchester (www.manchester.ac.uk), is a world-leading centre for excellence in cancer research.  The Institute is core funded by Cancer Research UK (www.cancerresearchuk.org), the largest independent cancer research organisation in the world.
