Detail information about job OCTRU Trainee Clinical Trial Manager. Terms and conditions vacancy

We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Clinical Trial Manager to join the Oxford Clinical Trials Research Unit (OCTRU) in the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences, based at the Botnar Research Centre, Oxford.

OCTRU is a rapidly expanding Clinical Trials Unit, with over 25 recruiting trials. OCTRU has created bespoke standard operating procedures (SOPs) and systems to enable efficient running of its trials. The purpose of this role is for an individual with some experience in clinical trials to be exposed to OCTRU and its processes and systems to learn these and to then undertake the pre-work up of newly funded trials. You will also be exposed to the OCTRU training programme and be mentored by a substantive OCTRU Trial Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to work-up with Chief Investigators, co-applicant teams and the core OCTRU Hub staff trials that have been successfully funded.

You will have a degree in a biomedical or health related subject, or other relevant qualification, or proven experience in clinical research as well as having project management experience and evidence of substantial problem solving skills. High level verbal and written communication skills and evidence of team working skills are essential, as is the ability to use own initiative and to secure trust and influence others.

Understanding of clinical research methodology, good clinical practice and the research governance framework would be desirable, as would knowledge of the set up process for clinical trials, including regulatory and governance requirements.

This is a full-time fixed-term appointment for 12 months.

The closing date for this position is 12.00 noon on Thursday 7 September 2017. You will be required to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your online application. Interviews are scheduled for Wednesday 20 September 2017.
