The Division of Social Anthropology is seeking to recruit a part-time Research Coordinator to be responsible for the day to day running of the Max Planck Cambridge Centre for the Study of Ethics, Human Economy and Social Change (MAX-CAM Centre).

This is a varied and busy role. The post holder will be responsible to the Directors of the Centre for the financial management of the Centre's budget, and manage the administration of the Centre's HR related activities including supervising the MAX-CAM Administrator. They will also manage the office space and be responsible for complying with relevant Health and Safety regulation. In addition the post holder will play a vital role in coordinating the research activities of the Centre and its Research Associates, including working closely with the Directors and the Advisory Committee in developing and implementing a research and communications strategy and building a network within and beyond Cambridge and its MAX-CAM partners in Germany.

The ideal candidate for this role will hold a PhD in Social Anthropology. They will be able to work proactively and independently, using their own initiative, and demonstrate proven problem-solving skills. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to synthesise and articulate complex concepts for varied external audiences. An ability to work closely with senior and junior academics to understand their research priorities is essential. Previous experience of attracting research funding, coordinating teams of researchers and/or managing complex project deadlines would be desirable.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 December 2021 in the first instance.
