As a Postdoctoral Researcher in Meta-Research you will contribute to a range of new projects aiming to improve the conduct, integrity and reporting of medical research as part of the wider BRC Partnerships for Health Wealth and Innovation (PHWI). You will develop a programme of research within the BRC research programme with a strong focus on evaluating research conduct, integrity and reporting. You will be mapping problematic issues in research, and helping develop mechanisms to improve these shortcomings (including developing training). Main duties will include contributing to the development, execution and write up of research studies to evaluate the conduct and reporting of biomedical research, with a primary focus on translation research and non-randomised studies; management of own academic research and administrative activities; collaboration in the preparation of journal publications and book chapters; and representing the research group at external events.
You must hold PhD in relevant discipline and have demonstrable skills in epidemiology and/or evidence-based medicine. You will have an interest in research around trials transparency and research integrity, as well as strong skills in the critical appraisal of medical research and literature searching. You must have previous experience of contributing to publications and presentations, excellent communication skills, and sufficient knowledge in the discipline to work within established research programmes. Experience of work on research integrity or transparency, experience of independently managing a discrete area of a research project and the ability to actively collaborate in the development of research articles for publication are desirable.
This is a full-time fixed-term post for 2 years in the first instance.
You will be required to upload a CV and supporting statement as part of your online application.
