Salary Range: £37,110 - £42,100 per annum including London Weighting, depending on experience and performance.
Situated in the heart of the City of London, adjacent to the Barbican Centre, the Guildhall School of Music & Drama produces 14 fully staged operas and dramas each year to fully professional standards. It is internationally recognised as one of the leading conservatoires for training of stage managers and theatre technicians, actors and musicians. We need an experienced Lecturer/practitioner in the field of Scenic Carpentry to join the Design Realisation Pathway of the Technical Theatre Department in delivering our BA (Hons) in Technical Theatre Arts.
The post holder will need to have had experience in professional theatre or a similar environment; proven scenic construction and fit-up skills as well as experience of stage technology and counterweight flying. You will also preferably have a background in teaching and/or hold a teaching qualification. Experience of working in an HE environment would be ideal. Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety and commitment to promoting safe working is also essential.
Essentially they will demonstrate an ability to work with and inspire young people.
