The Supporting Evidence Based Interventions (SEBI) project aims to drive better strategic livestock decision making for low and middle income countries through improved data and analysis. This project has been funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundations and has received initial funding for 3 years.
We are currently seeking a Project Manager. You will be a key member of the SEBI team and responsible for the delivery of a series of programme objectives. These will require proactive project management and coordination of field trials and research across three distinct programmes. You will focus on delivery in specific countries in sub-Saharan Africa. This is an exciting and challenging role and will encompass wide-ranging tasks from negotiating and managing sub-contracts with external providers to drafting protocols and procedures to ensure prompt delivery of short term operational goals of the project in line with the Gates Foundation contract.
You will be an experienced project manager preferably with a higher and/or veterinary degree with the ability to deliver agreed goals on time and budget. You will have significant experience of conducting applied research at an international level, preferably with experience in industry, and will be well practiced in managing the needs of numerous stakeholders. You will have excellent team working, and communication skills, with strong IT literacy and MS Office skills.
This is a full-time post, initially for 2 years, secondments will be considered. SEBI is led by Professor A R Peters and based at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at Easter Bush, Edinburgh.
SEBI is a dynamic and creative small, but friendly, team. If you enjoy a challenge, you will find this an exciting and rewarding project. This role will require some international travel.
