University of Southampton Malaysia Campus (USMC) are offering Academic Appointments in Mechanical Engineering. The University of Southampton has established a branch campus in Malaysia (USMC) within the EduCity Iskandar Malaysia development, close to the Second Crossing Bridge to Singapore and 25 km southwest of the city of Johor Bahru. USMC started teaching its first cohort of Master of Engineering (MEng) Mechanical Engineering students in September 2012; these students graduated in July 2016. In September 2013 the first cohort of MEng Electrical & Electronic Engineering students were admitted, and a Foundation Year in Engineering commenced in April 2015. The MEng Aeronautics and Astronautics programme commenced in September 2015.
We are looking for a Lecturer(s)/Assistant Professor(s) in Mechanical Engineering. Fixed term for 3 years initially.
We are seeking to recruit academic staff to join our successful and expanding Faculty of Engineering and the Environment at USMC. You will assist in the delivery of the Mechanical Engineering degree programme, and undertake research in an appropriate area. Applicants are welcome from candidates with a specialisation in any branch of Mechanical Engineering, but USMC is particularly interested in candidates who can teach Design and Manufacturing Engineering.
You should have experience of teaching at undergraduate level. It is expected that the successful candidate will be educated to PhD level in an appropriate discipline, and will be research active. It is expected that the successful candidate will become a member of, and collaborate with, a research group at the University of Southampton in the UK, and may be required to complete training in the UK, up to a maximum of 4 months, as part of the initial induction process.
