The Nuffield Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (NDOG) is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and organised Research Midwifery Care Assistant to join the Oxford Safer Pregnancy Alliance (OSPREA) Research Unit, a team of midwives, doctors, scientists, researchers, nurses and support staff who are working together with women and their families to lead research in the areas of pregnancy, reproduction and women’s health.

You will be responsible for arranging follow-up appointments for women recruited to a number of obstetric studies, completing research documentation, taking clinical observations and performing phlebotomy and other clinical requirements as required. You will be involved with the collection and processing of samples as specified as well as other laboratory based tasks.

You will have a NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, experience in working in a maternity related healthcare role and experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will be able to organise, prioritise and co-ordinate your workload and have good time management skills. The ability to perform phlebotomy and a willingness to be trained in sample collection and preparation and study data collection processes are also essential.

This post is part-time (30 hours/0.82FTE) and fixed-term for 1 year.
