About Us
The MRC Harwell Institute is recognised as an international centre of excellence in mouse genetics. Within this context, the mouse is used as a model organism for investigating the causes of genetic disease in man. The Institute comprises two closely integrated partners, the Mammalian Genetics Unit and the Mary Lyon Centre.
About the Role
Working to strict Standard Operating Procedures, you will be responsible for addressing the welfare needs of colonies of experimental mice at cage checking and providing basic husbandry tasks.
About You
Experience of working with mice is not essential as full training will be given, including basic animal husbandry and theoretical background training. Good communication skills and attention to detail, together with a flexible approach and a genuine interest in the welfare of animals is essential.
