Applications are invited for a 3 year full-time research technician to work in the Institute of Inflammation and Ageing at the University of Birmingham, under the supervision of Dr Helen McGettrick.
The post-holder will join Dr McGettrick’s research laboratory investigating what regulates leukocyte exit of the blood and entrance into the tissue, and how this becomes dysregulated in rheumatoid arthritis. To this end, they will have previous laboratory experience in murine models of inflammation, in particular models of arthritis, including, cell-sorting, immunohistochemistry, and ideally tissue digestion of murine synovium and lymph nodes and microCT analysis.
We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic individual who can demonstrate commitment to a career supporting research and has a strong work ethic. Individuals will have a good honours degree or equivalent in a biological subject or equivalent with at least 1 year previous laboratory experience.
