You should have or expect to obtain a PhD qualification(or equivalent) in inorganic chemistry or a closely related field and possess extensive experience of handling air sensitive coordination or organometallic compounds with good knowledge of Schlenk line and glove box techniques. Experience with lasers and in photophysical measurements is essential for the post, although training will be provided for more in depth experiments. Experience of f-element chemistry and X-ray crystallography are essential and theoretical computational techniques are also highly desirable. The successful candidate will be a highly capable, motivated and independent researcher who is able to help the current PDRAs manage a group of ~7 Ph.D and project students working on a variety of synthetic and photophysical projects. You will be expected to take a leading role in the research group including organising group meetings, presenting findings at international conferences and taking small secondments to European partner institutes throughout the appointment.

The post is funded for 12 months and is available immediately.
