Applicants are invited for a Research Associate position on harnessing stem cell technologies and advances in genome editing for modelling disease and testing novel therapeutic interventions in congenital blindness caused by mutations in the AIPL1 gene.

The position is funded for a period of 2 years in the first instance.

Applicants must have a PhD in a suitable area. The project will entail a wide range of techniques required for the development and characterization of a patient-derived photoreceptor model of disease. Techniques employed will include stem cell culture and differentiation, molecular biology, biochemistry, and histology. Experience in stem cell biology and molecular biology techniques and an understanding of models of neurodegeneration and advances in therapeutic approaches to neurodegenerative disease is desirable.
