We are seeking an enthusiastic Adult Clinical Research Fellow to join our established adult research team. You will work on vaccine and vaccine-related studies, including those using recently developed human models of typhoid and paratyphoid infection within the Oxford Vaccine Group, a University research group with strong links to the Oxford University NHS Foundation Trust.

You will gain experience in clinical research in a multi-disciplinary academic environment working on range of studies including Oxford Sponsored studies utilising our successfully developed safe, ambulant outpatient typhoid and paratyphoid challenge models, follow up work on some of the first participants to receive novel Ebola vaccines, and University and Industry Sponsored early phase trials.

The applicant will contribute to a 24-hour on-call service for adult study participants which includes out-of-hours laboratory processing of participant samples. This research is expected to lead to high quality publications and includes opportunities for suitable candidates to study for a higher degree (PhD/DPhil).

The successful candidates must have a medical degree, be a GMC registered medical practitioner and have evidence of good communication and interpersonal skills. Management experience and experience of clinical research practice would be advantageous. These posts would be especially suitable for trainees in infectious or tropical diseases, medical microbiology/virology or immunology specialities, but would also suitable for trainees in any other speciality, including general practice or on completion of core medical training. The post is fixed-term for 12 months in the first instance, but has the potential to be extended based on the availability of further funding.
