The purpose of the role
The purpose of this post is to support the Research Management Team in monitoring the outputs and impact of our external research funding using, among other things, a system called Researchfish. The post holder will play a key supporting role in collecting and analysing Researchfish data and preparing case studies for Marie Curie’s annual impact reports. They will also be responsible for analysing sector-wide grant data. The post holder will also be involved in research grants funding by leading in setting up a new Marie Curie internal small research grants scheme.
The post holder will also be involved in coordinating activities following the report of the Palliative and end of life care Priority Setting Partnership (PeolcPSP) with the James Lind Alliance, for example, organising workshops, and helping to expand the work of the UK end of life care Research Interest Group.
The post holder will also assist the Head of Research with financial management and support the Research Management Team with the coordination of and support for administrative activities, such as organising team meetings and conference logistics.
About you
The position requires a numerate individual with attention to detail and strong analytical skills as well as planning, organisational and communication skills.
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, potentially with a higher degree, in a health or research related discipline. You will ideally have some experience of working in research administration either in the university sector or a research funding body and/or experience in measuring research impact.
A highly motivated and dedicated individual, you will be able to work to tight deadlines. You will be enthusiastic and positive, and have excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
