Part Time Post: 6 hours per week, Term Time: 29 weeks per year.
Library and Student Services wishes to recruit an enthusiastic and energetic Advisor to provide a range of front-facing services to staff, students, and researchers using the University Library’s facilities and support services.
You should be educated to ‘A’ level standard or equivalent and possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills and including an ability to communicate directly with non-technical users. You will need to be a competent and confident IT user with experience of IT systems and applications such as Windows, Mac OS, MS Office and the internet.
Experience of working in a customer-orientated environment is essential. Previous experience of providing front-facing student-focused services or support in an academic environment would be an advantage but not essential, as training will be given.
Equally important are the abilities to work as part of a team, to use your initiative and ability to work systematically, follow procedures, and take care in maintaining records and paying attention to detail. You should be prepared to learn new skills, especially in the area of new technology.
