Symmetron is an established Health Economics and Outcomes Research consultancy specialising in evidence review and synthesis, decision-analytic modelling and statistical analysis in healthcare. It is made up of a team of enthusiastic health economists and outcomes researchers based in the UK and Canada. To support growing demand, we are looking for an exceptional systematic reviewer to join the team. Our outcomes team identify, pull together and interpret evidence to understand the value of new medical technologies. The work focuses on the delivery of high-quality systematic reviews of clinical and health economic evidence, key aspects of health technology assessment. The team’s outputs range from stand-alone reports to data sets useful for meta-analysis or other statistical modelling.

Key Responsibilities
- Work with a senior researcher to develop new review questions and study protocols
- Develop search strategies using international best practice guidelines
- Perform all other functions of a systematic review, including study selection, database management, data extraction, quality assessment
- Assist in the interpretation and synthesis of the evidence, as well as the development of study reports
- Assist in the preparation of relevant draft manuscripts, posters and other publications
Essential requirements and qualifications
- Undergraduate degree from a top-tier university in medicine, pharmacology, life sciences, economics or another relevant discipline
- Experience in conducting systematic reviews
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
- An organised and methodological approach to planning and delivering work
- Communication skills to effectively engage with a wide-ranging audience, both orally and in writing
- The ability to work effectively as part of a small team
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Desirable skills and experience
- Experience in evidence synthesis: assisting on or independently performing meta-analysis
- Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline
A valid UK work permit is an essential requirement for application. Note that some international travel may be required to meet and liaise with clients.
