Detail information about job Clinical Research Training Fellow (3 posts). Terms and conditions vacancy
The CRUK Oxford Centre is in a fortunate position to have a cohort of three Fellowships to award this year to support high priority research and develop future clinical academic leaders. These three-year Fellowships offer a unique opportunity for clinical trainees to work in a high calibre, world-class, innovative research environment, while studying for a DPhil.
The Fellowships are tailored specifically to the needs of individual talented clinicians and provide both academic and clinical mentorship and guidance. The principal aim is to provide high-quality research training in translational cancer research.
The Fellowships are structured around existing world-leading research programmes. These provide unparalleled research environments for clinician scientists who will benefit from a framework for research and training in the combined fields of basic science and clinical medicine. Each Fellowship will be tailored to form a dynamic collaboration between basic scientists and clinician-scientists, with the aim to bridge the gap between basic and applied research by bringing world-leading science into the clinic.
The Fellowships may be held at a number of University departments, dependent on the choice of project, and include a range of specialities and disease sites reflecting the breadth and depth of the cancer research community in Oxford (www.cancercentre.ox.ac.uk). Candidates will be required to include the proposed research project details in their Fellowship application, from a range available. Please review available research opportunities in your field of interest via the included project booklet.
We strongly advise prospective applicants to discuss their research interests with potential supervisors prior to applying.
All applicants must complete a short application form and upload a CV, supporting statement and CRTF supplementary information form. We request that candidates do not attach research papers or publications to their application.
These full-time posts are fixed-term for 3 years. The start date for successful candidates would ideally be March 2018.
The closing date for applications (including additional material) is 12.00 noon on 20 September 2017. Interviews are scheduled to be held on 9 October 2017.
