We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join Dr Uta Paszkowski's research project in Plant Sciences, whose research focuses on on molecular mechanisms underlying the formation and functioning of AM symbioses in rice and maize. The role will require ability to set up experiments under minimal supervision with due care and attention. Day to day tasks include growth and maintenance of rice plants, conducting DNA & RNA isolation, phenotyping of rice lines, recording data and providing results. The successful candidate will be responsible for following and ensuring strict safety procedures and safety checks. The ideal candidate will have a HNC-Level or equivalent qualification in a biological subject with experience in academic or commercial molecular biology, tissue culture, genetics and microbiology laboratories. It is important that the applicant has communication and interpersonal skills at a level that allows clear understanding between all group members and role holder of requirements and potential problems.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 15 November 2019 in the first instance.
