Located on our Colchester campus, UCC offers a range of degrees, higher level and professional qualifications including Higher Nationals and Higher Apprenticeships and postgraduate study. Developed in partnership with employers and professional awarding bodies, our courses are designed to meet local and regional skills priorities and enable students to experience current industry practice.

For fifty years we have equipped thousands of students with the skills they have needed to realise their aspirations, and helped students of all backgrounds to exceed their potential.

The majority of our courses are validated by our partner university - University of Essex. We have ambitious growth plans which include a greater focus on the development of higher level and degree apprenticeships and further postgraduate study.

We are looking for a Course Leader to provide clear and dynamic teaching, leadership and direction to the FdA/BA (Hons) Photography programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • ensuring the smooth running, organisation and operation of the course and will work in close collaboration with other staff to guarantee the highest possible level of student satisfaction and achievement;
  • organising and ensuring the delivery of appropriate teaching;
  • assessment, grading and internal verification of students work;
  • managing resources, leading on recruitment and liaising with external stakeholders.

You will possess good communication, organisational and IT skills and have experience of motivating a team.

You will be qualified to a minimum of Level 2, or equivalent, in Maths and English along with a postgraduate qualification in an Art and Design subject or equivalent. A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE would be desirable.
