Positions and Qualifications The School of Humanities and Social Science at CUHK(SZ) invites applications for a faculty position in psychology (specialization areas in psychology are flexible), at the rank of full professor/associate professor level with prospect for tenure, although junior candidates with very competitive academic records may be considered for positions of assistant professor. All candidates should have (i) a PhD degree (by the time of reporting duty) in a relevant area of psychology; and (ii) evidence of high potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship. 

Candidates for the associate and full professor position are expected to have solid evidence of excellence in teaching/research/service, and a strong track record of sustained high-quality research/scholarship outcomes in the expertise area(s), as evidenced by research publications in competitive international outlets (e.g., SSCI- or SCI-indexed journals) in the relevant areas of psychology. In addition, candidates need to demonstrate academic leadership and strong commitment to the highest standard of excellence. Applicants are advised to provide quality indicators for the journals where they have research publications (e.g., journal impact factor, journal ranking in a relevant category, as available in the Journal Citations Reports of the Web of Science).   

Successful applicants are expected to be able to teach a range of courses in core areas of psychology. Experience in supervising postgraduate students will be favorably considered. 

Appointments will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years initially, leading to longer-term appointment or tenure later, subject to successful performance evaluation and mutual agreement. In cases where a candidate has an established record of excellence and demonstrable potential for continued success, tenure may be offered to the candidate at the time of initial appointment.

The appointee is expected to commence work in the academic year of 2017-18.

Salary and Fringe BenefitsSalary will be competitive, commensurate with experience and academic accomplishments. Appointments will be made under the establishment of CUHK(SZ) and statutory benefits will be provided according to the prevailing labor laws applicable to the PRC. The appointee will be based in Shenzhen, China.
