Detail information about job School Research & Knowledge Exchange Officer. Terms and conditions vacancy

The Royal College of Art is the only entirely postgraduate institution of university status dedicated to research and knowledge exchange, teaching and practice in art, design, communication and humanities. Its international reputation for excellence in teaching, research and employability has been recognised for three successive years by the highly regarded QS World Ranking survey, with the College rated the world's number one art and design University in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

The new School of Arts & Humanities brings together programmes and research previously located in the Schools of Fine Art, Humanities and Material, in order to enhance opportunities for collaboration and interdisciplinary activity and to enrich the experience of our students and researchers.

The College is seeking to recruit an experienced Research Officer to provide specific Research and Knowledge Exchange (RKE) coordination to the School of Arts and Humanities. Working four days per week, the successful candidate will report directly to the School General Manager.

The appointed person will be required to work directly with staff in the School and the central RKE office. They will coordinate the delivery and organisation the School's RKE work, including projects, bids, events, and exchanges. They will support School General Manager and academic staff in pursuit of excellent standards of academic research and successful achievement of income targets.

Using their specialist knowledge of UK HE funding body regulations, processes and expectations, the successful candidate will work closely with the School General Manager, Dean, Heads of Programme, and Senior Tutors (Research Leads) to ensure that the procedural, contractual, operational and financial aspects of the School’s research, knowledge exchange, and executive education operations are coordinated effectively. The appointed candidate will be required to liaise with officers from funding bodies and partnerships associated with the College and they will play a key role during the setup of essential projects.

It is essential that candidates are educated to degree level or equivalent, have evidence of strong critical and analytical skills in project-based work and significant experience of working in Higher Education. The successful candidate must have excellent organisational, financial, and project management skills along with experience of budgetary oversight. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential along with the ability to lead on operational matters.

The successful applicant will be flexible about their work location, and will need to be willing to work across all three College sites in Kensington, Battersea and White City.

Interviews will take place on 3 October 2017.
