Salary: £17,399 to £20,624 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

The Research and Funding Team is one of 3 teams within the School Management and Research Office (SMRO) in the School of Humanities. The team has primary responsibility for the management of all internal and external sources of funding including research and non-research awards, postgraduate studentship travel awards, School conference and strategic funds and all associated support and financial monitoring and reporting for those areas.
Applications are invited for the above post which will have responsibility for providing efficient and effective administration for the Research and Funding Team and working collaboratively with the other SMRO teams. Other responsibilities include administration of the School study leave processes, Research Excellence Framework (REF) support, committee support, providing cover for the wider team, dealing with customer enquiries both specific to the role holder’s area of remit and general enquiries to the SMRO, and supporting Senior Management within the School.
Candidates must have vocational qualifications (NVQ 2-3, City and Guilds) as minimum, plus some experience in a relevant role, or substantial relevant administrative experience in a related role. Demonstrable knowledge of funded project administration and experience of finance systems and working with budgets is essential. Candidates must also have experience of planning and prioritising work activities to meet strict deadlines and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
