Detail information about job Lecturer in Biogeochemistry. Terms and conditions vacancy
The School of Geographical Sciences is seeking to make a fixed-term appointment to the position of Lecturer in Biogeochemistry that combines research with teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We welcome applicants with an emerging international reputation in the field of biogeochemistry, particularly those with a focus on modelling and/or observing the marine realm. You will complement the existing research and teaching portfolio of the Bristol Research Initiative for the Dynamic Global Environment (BRIDGE), a research group within the School of Geographical Sciences (ranked #1 in REF2014).
BRIDGE has a broad range of interests in earth-system science, primarily focussed on the understanding of climate change, climate impacts and policy. It includes experts in physical climate science, biogeochemistry, genomics, environmental policy, palaeoclimate, and geochronology. BRIDGE research has a global outlook and maintains a strong network of external collaborators, with funding from the EU, NERC, the Royal Society and industrial partners, amongst other sources. Members of the group collaborate closely with researchers in the Bristol Glaciology Centre and Hydrology Research Group within the School, and many others across the University, including Earth Sciences, Chemistry and Biological Sciences, all of which have significant expertise in biogeochemistry. BRIDGE researchers are integral members of the Cabot Institute, and associated with the interdisciplinary Global Environmental Change theme.
Informal enquiries are encouraged and should be directed to: Professor Tony Payne, Head of School email [email protected] or Dr. David Richards, BRIDGE, email: [email protected]
Shortlisting will take place in the week beginning 2nd October 2017.
Interviews are expected to be held in mid-October 2017.
The University is committed to creating and sustaining a fully inclusive culture. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and communities.
