Location: University ParkSalary: £34,956 to £46,924 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.
The Department of Architecture and Built Environment offers a full range of professional architecture and building services engineering programmes as well as innovative programmes that span the disciplines of architecture and environmental design. With a history extending back over 140 years, we are a leading centre for teaching and research in architecture, urban design, building services engineering and sustainable energy technologies. Applicants to this post should have a good honours degree or equivalent in a subject that draws upon a robust understanding of environmental design and it's ability to support inspiring design studio teaching as well as taught lecture series that inform a wider architectural education. Applicants should offer clarity over their individual approach to studio teaching, detailing any distinguished features of the work students generate or original approaches to inspiring student excellence. The ability to reinforce teaching through the use of computer aided design and/or energy simulation skills is viewed as desirable.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching and curriculum development for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, participate in assessing and examining students. Staff in the Department are encouraged to adopt a reflective and developmental approach to teaching by disseminating their ideas through the generation of pedagogical research outputs, engaging with the wider pedagogical research community and taking advantage of ongoing training opportunities.
This is a full-time permanent post.
