The salary will be paid at Grade 7/8 £40,523- £49,772 per annum, plus £2,923 London Allowance per annum.

The Cicely Saunders Institute at King’s College London is looking for an excellent candidate to fill this endowed Lectureship. You will develop and sustain your own research portfolio in the academic work of the Cicely Saunders Institute, delivering clinically applied and health service research and undergraduate and postgraduate education focused on older people, rehabilitation, palliative care and/or frailty and the interface between these to address the concerns of the major populations of the future, health care services and policy make

You should be able to ability to raise and deliver independent grant-funded research, publications in high impact journals and development of networks and collaborations.

You will join the vibrant multiprofessional team of dedicated clinical academics and social scientists of the Cicely Saunders Institute, led by Professor Irene Higginson. The Research Excellence Framework (REF) assessed >90% of their research as world-leading or internationally excellent. There is high quality undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD student supervision. The Institute is the world’s only purpose-built Institute for Palliative Care, Policy and Rehabilitation, with outstanding research and teaching facilities in a dedicated light and environmentally friendly building, with connections and infrastructure, on a busy hospital and academic campus. The Institute’s mission is to pioneer the very best in palliative care and rehabilitation by integrating cutting-edge research, skilled multi-professional care and innovation in engagement and education.
