We are currently seeking to appoint a Scientific Officer 2 within the Molecular Biology Core Facility. The successful candidate will be involved in processing DNA and RNA samples for high throughput sequencing (Next Generation Sequencing). The post holder will work as part of a team of service providers to support the cutting edge research at the Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute and will contribute to these services in a flexible manner being involved in all stages from sample QC to running the Facility’s Next Generation Sequencing instruments.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a range of molecular biological techniques including sample processing for Next Generation Sequencing, although sufficient training will be given to provide the necessary skill set. Essential requirements for the post include a degree in Life Sciences (or equivalent relevant experience) and expertise in Molecular Biology techniques as well as relevant experience in working in a Life Science Laboratory.
