The School of Health and Social Care (HSC) is fundamental to meeting this vision by offering a range of courses from foundation degrees in all aspects of Health and Social Care through courses in health and social care, social welfare and social work to nursing (adult, child and mental health), midwifery, operating department practice, paramedic science. We support students through all stages of their career from undergraduate study, to continuing professional development, postgraduate and doctoral study, as well as through a range of workforce development modules and study days.

The school works closely with practice partners to prepare and develop highly skilled professionals to work in the social welfare and health care sector.

An opportunity has arisen in the School of Health and Social Care for a Lecturer in Health and Social Care within the Department of Social Work and Social Welfare. This post is on a full time permanent basis. This area is expanding and we are looking for enthusiastic team members to contribute to the growth of this provision.

You will join a team of Health and Social Care lecturers and be engaged in all aspects of the delivery of the undergraduate programme but with a particular emphasis on teaching and supporting students, plus social media support. You will also work closely supporting foundation awards with our partner colleges. You will possess a good undergraduate degree in the specialist area or a related subject and will need to be knowledgeable and skilled in the health and social care subject area. You will already have a Phd or doctorate. You must enjoy teaching and assessing students and be committed to ensuring an excellent and supportive student experience You will be expected to contribute to the recruitment and marketing of Health and Social Care. You will also be expected to work flexibly and to contribute to the work of the wider academic group, Department and School. The post will involve travel between sites, and the need for occasional weekend and evening work.  In return we offer you a friendly working environment and one which actively supports your professional growth and development.
