Detail information about job Senior Grants Administrator. Terms and conditions vacancy

Joint Research Office

The Joint Research Office (JRO) in the Faculty of Medicine at Imperial College is a large team of grant management staff and contract negotiators who support a research spend of over £160 million per annum. This post represents an exciting opportunity to play an integral role in supporting the ground-breaking medical research that takes place at Imperial College.

As Senior Grants Administrator you will manage the finances for a portfolio of grants within the Faculty. In conjunction with your stakeholders in the departments you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate costing of grant applications, and assisting with the preparation of proposals. You will be responsible for financial authorisation of research-funded staff appointments. You will have line management responsibility for two Grants Administrators who will support your work by carrying out post award administration including invoicing and financial statements.

The Senior Grants Administrator is a key point of contact for staff in the departments, HR and finance; you must feel confident in your ability to apply and impart specialist knowledge, and must work as an effective part of the team to deliver an outstanding level of service to your departments.

Staff are supported by a knowledgeable and approachable team, and you will have the opportunity to develop both personal and management skills in order to achieve your potential and further your career.

You will be a numerate financial administrator with experience in financial management, costing applications, and invoicing, ideally within the Higher Education or NHS Sector. You will have working knowledge of TRAC and FEC methodologies. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to form effective working relationships with staff at all levels within and outside the College.
