We seek an outstanding technician to support The University of Surrey's Digital Media Arts programmes. This will involve working closely with Digital Media Arts colleagues to assist students creating 3D models for games and interactive media. Knowledge of software packages for VFX, animation and game development e.g. Maya, 3ds Max, Nuke, Unity3D, Unreal, is essential. Recent experience of professional practices in digital media arts production will be an advantage. Our learning environment is suited to our special mix of scholarship, academic research and high-level practice; our facilities include audio recording studios, video production studios, motion capture and post-production suites, as well as performance venues, workshops, laboratories, rehearsal and practice rooms. You will work with excellent colleagues, students and partners, to provide technical support for a range of audio and video teaching and production, as well as staff research.

Music and Media at Surrey includes programmes in Film and TV Production Technology, Music, Sound Recording, Creative Music Technology and Digital Media Arts (DMA). Research Centres include the International Guitar Research Centre and the Institute of Sound Recording (IoSR). The Dept of Music and Media is closely allied with the Centre for Vision and Speech Signal Processing (CVSSP) in the faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences. OMA has recently implemented its digital media provision, including the development of a markerless motion capture and VR/ AR facilities. Our facilities are extensive and well suited to our range of creative and performing arts activities. Infrastructure includes a technical team and administrators managing many public-facing events including the G3 Futures: Galvanizing Guildford Games consortium.
