A full-time Education Support Officer is required by the College of Life and Environmental Science, at the University of Exeter. The role will support the Education Business Partner and the Taught Programme Support Manager, delivering key education functions. This paid internship is available for 12 months, and is part of the Graduate Business Partnership scheme

Main duties and responsibilities will include organising meetings for the a number of groups including College’s Education Strategy Group, the College’s Comprehensive Annual Programme, the College’s Taught ASER process, and the CLES College-level APAC. This will include organising meetings, managing diaries, agenda-setting, minute-taking, booking rooms, organising catering and managing web content. The appointee will also be responsible for organising the College’s external examiner process, including processing of nominations, circulation of information pertaining to reports, chasing responses and managing web content on the University’s virtual learning environment. The role will also involve reviewing module descriptors and programme specifications, suggest improvements to the TPSM where necessary and record and update module descriptors and programme specifications in IPAMS. The appointee will also be the first point of contact for the College regarding the use of Accelerate, the University’s tool for student feedback and be expected to undertake ad hoc requests for user access and support in setting up new surveys. You will also monitor and report on the return of student feedback in the College in line with the University’s ‘Three-Week Turnaround’ policy. The appointee will also undertake ad hoc secretariat style support for academic staff and students, as well as occasional project support for a Quality Assurance activity and provide administrative support to all Academic Misconduct Officers in the College.

We are looking for a highly organised graduate with excellent communication and planning skills, with the ability to manage their own workload well, whilst setting priorities and working to strict deadlines. The ideal candidate will be able to think creatively with a demonstrable aptitude for problem-solving, with great attention to detail involved in editing/checking, and the ability to deal rigorously with any errors or inconsistencies. The appointee will also need proven IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Outlook and PowerPoint and experience of data collection, analysis, and presentation. We are looking for someone who is customer-focused, with a people friendly approach and is able to participate in and develop information networks. The interview date is set for 18 September 2017.
