About the role

We are now looking for an ambitious, IT professional to assist with the ongoing support of GSM database architecture and web applications. We face a set of challenges that provide an opportunity to gain a unique range of skills and experience and make a significant contribution to the growth and sustainability of the College. The role will report directly in to the Application Support Lead.  

The key purposes of this role will be to maintain all internal databases including backups. The role will include web support for the GSM London main website and other web applications. You will be expected to monitor server performances and provide solution to enhance the experience for users. You will work in small new team of L3 analysts who’s focus will be on implementing new services and enhancing existing services including adding new functionality (where requested) and proactively responding to change of system requirements. You will also work closely with the BAU teams to help recover systems during unplanned events and subsequently with Service Management on root cause and corrective/preventative actions. The post holder will also be expected to provide input to and influence the development of the strategy for IT.

To be successful, you will need to be degree qualified in a relevant subject discipline or possess equivalent experience, and demonstrate an understanding of IT application and web support. You will have a detailed knowledge and understanding of working within the ITIL framework and the challenges within the industry. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the ability to think creatively, especially in the challenging international space.
