The Quantum Photonics Laboratory at Heriot-Watt University seeks a Project Manager within the framework of a European Research Council grant which aims to drive forward an emergent quantum photonic platform based on localised spins and excitons in two-dimensional, atomically thin semiconductors. Based on the Edinburgh campus, the Project Manager will be a member of a vibrant team. The post-holder will provide administrative support to Prof. Brian Gerardot and the Quantum Photonics Lab, co-ordinate outreach activities for the group, assist in financial reporting and organization, and assist in developing new project applications.
Duties include: taking ownership of and manage a wide range of major and minor administrative, process, and procedural tasks and ensure they are delivered in a timely manner; monitoring the project budget and liaising with the Finance team to verify budget spend reports and taking responsibility for preparing reports to funders in their required format.
You will be educated to honours degree level or equivalent experience and have recent experience of providing administrative support in a busy office environment.
This role does not meet the minimum requirements set by UKVI to enable sponsorship of migrant workers. The post is available for 12 months at 0.5 FTE with possible extension to 5 years dependent on results.
