The Department of Applied Health Research undertakes world-leading multi-disciplinary research to evaluate the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of health care and public health interventions, with particular expertise in reducing socioeconomic inequalities and evaluating health service reorganisation. The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (CLAHRC) North Thames aims to improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities through world leading applied health research.
Professor Rosalind Raine is the Head of DAHR and the Director of NIHR CLAHRC North Thames Working as a member of the CLAHRC North Thames Research Partnership Team, the post holder will be responsible for developing and strengthening the CLAHRC’s applied health rese arch through information gathering, bringing research teams together and co-ordinating proposal development.
The post holder will work with colleagues across CLAHRC North Thames and nationally to facilitate the regional/national conduct of research and implementation of research findings into routine to improve the quality and effectiveness of health services.
This post is available immediately and is funded until 30th September 2019 in the first instance.
The post holder must have a postgraduate degree or equivalent experience in Population Health, applied health care research or related subject area. The post holder will have experience of coordinating the delivery of substantial proposals for prestigious, significant external research funding (preferably medical funders, including NIHR), including contributing to proposal writing.
Significant experience of gaining governance approvals, access to routine data, project managing complex multi-stakeholder initiatives across more than one organisation or sector is required, as is experience of working in or/and with NHS or/and population health or/and social care.
