The role

The Front End Developer will support Development Team in building and enhancing the University's core digital channels. Working as part of the Digital Team, the role will work alongside Content and UX teams on improving the user interface of UAL’s digital platforms by building and maintaining templates and functionality. The role will also be involved in delivering a number of projects through the University’s digital transformation programme, the Online Estate Services Programme.

Your profile

Essential skills include:

  • Expert knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and related technologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of JavaScript.
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript libraries and frameworks, such as AngularJS, KnockoutJS, BackboneJS, ReactJS.
  • Familiarity with Bootstrap or Foundation frameworks 
  • Working knowledge of CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS 
  • Understanding of modern web development process using Node.js, Gulp, Bower, WebPack, Composer etc 
  • Practiced in client side performance and cross browser compatibility 
  • Exposure to PHP development 
  • Understanding of source control using Git. 
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of web accessibility policies (WCAG 2.0).
