Hours of work: 35 hours per week 52 weeks per year. The majority of annual leave is expected to be taken out of term time.

South Kensington Campus

The post holder will hold a key role within the Student Counselling and Mental Health Advice Service in providing and developing Mental Health and Wellbeing advice across the College.

Reporting to the Senior Student Mental Health Adviser, the Student Mental Health Adviser will provide specialist support to students with moderate to severe and/or enduring mental health difficulties and will act as liaison between mental health services in the community and College support services. They will promote good practice and deliver training across the College community in relation to supporting students with mental health difficulties. 

The Student Counselling and Mental Health Advice Service of Imperial College London comprises the Head of Student Counselling and Mental Health Advice Service, one Senior Student Counsellor, one Senior Student Mental Health Adviser, one Student Mental Health Adviser, eight part-time Student Counsellors, two Study Mentors: Mental Health, a Service Coordinator and two Administrative Assistants.

For this post we are seeking an experienced Mental Health Adviser preferably with experience of working in an educational, NHS or comparative organisational context

The post holder will be based at the College’s South Kensington campus and will be required to work at the College’s other campuses.

The College cannot normally apply for a Certificate of Sponsorship for this post under Tier 2 of the UKVI’s Points Based System. Any candidate, who is considering applying for this position and requires sponsorship, must ensure that they are able to obtain permission to work in the UK through an appropriate immigration route.
