Description:

The University of Bradford is offering the Professor Rae Earnshaw Scholarship in Cyber Security for an outstanding, self-funding candidate paying Home/EU fees, registered for our MSc Cyber Security programme for September 2017 start. The criteria for selection are academic excellence and financial need (http://www.bradford.ac.uk/fees-and-financial-support/university-scholarships-and-support/info/cyber-security-rae-earnshaw-2017-18 ). This programme, delivered by leading academics in their subjects, will deepen your understanding of cyber security. You will study, amongst other subjects: ISO27001; ethical hacking; secure networking and cryptography giving you the opportunity to gain additional qualifications in: Certified ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer; and CEH v8 Ethical Hacking. MSc Cyber Security is accredited by the BCS - The Chartered Institute for IT for full CITP (Chartered IT professional) and partial CSci status. It is also certified by GCHQ, ensuring the degree is highly valued by the industry.

As an MSc student you will join our high quality postgraduate taught and research team that includes other MSc and PhD students, post-doctoral researchers and academic staff. You will also have opportunities to attend our long-standing research seminars and industry talks organised by the research groups, and benefit from the successful AAA (Advanced Automotive Analytics) Research Institute, the Cyber Security Interdisciplinary Centre, the Digital Health Enterprise Zone, the Internet of Things lab and Computing Enterprise Centre’s industry inspired and research projects in Big Data, Open Data, Smart Cities and Internet of Things. We partner with top Smart Cities in Europe in research and knowledge transfer projects, such as the European North Sea Interreg SCORE: Smart Cities + Open data RE-use that will offer you opportunities to develop your dissertation for cutting edge cyber security challenges within an international top collaborative environment. The University of Bradford also offers a comprehensive doctoral training programme.

Emeritus Professor Rae Earnshaw is a leading scientist within the University of Bradford and is donating the scholarship to cover the cost of tuition fees at Home/EU level in the Postgraduate Computer Science specialism area. The University of Bradford continues to be a pioneer in the area of Computer Science within higher education in the UK, offering a wide spread of courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level as well as undertaking research that creates positive impact to the society and academia.
