The Department of Culture, Media and Creative Industries (CMCI) seeks to appoint a Postdoctoral research associate to assist with the successful conduct and completion of a series of impact and engagement tasks as specified under the terms of a one-year AHRC-funded project entitled ‘Collaborative Development of Children’s Screen Content in an Era of Forced Migration Flows: Facilitating Arab-European Dialogue’ (Principle Investigator Professor Jeanette Steemers, Co-Investigator Professor Naomi Sakr).
The project aims to transfer knowledge about developments in screen content for Arabic-speaking children in ways that can assist European broadcasters, policy-makers, producers and children’s advocacy groups to better understand the information and entertainment needs of Arabic-speaking children. This will occur through international workshops, impact reports, policy briefings, a Stakeholder Resource Book and a project website as a repository for project outputs. Applicants will need the organisational skills to coordinate the core activities and liaise with non-academic beneficiaries. Alongside organising events and communicating with stakeholders, they will also set up and run the project website, transcribe workshop discussions and draft written outputs in close consultation with the project investigators.
The selection process will include a panel interview and a short presentation.
Interviews are scheduled to be held on: 21 September 2017 TBC
