We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic postdoctoral research fellow within the research groups of Dr Darren Walsh and Prof. Robert Mokaya in the School of Chemistry at the University of Nottingham. The successful candidate will work as part of a university-funded project on the development of porous electrode materials and ionic-liquid electrolytes for high-energy supercapacitors.

The fellowship will be based in the newly-opened Carbon Neutral Laboratory for Sustainable Chemistry on the University’s Jubilee Campus (https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/estates/development/csc.aspx). Candidates must have (or almost completed) a PhD in Physical Chemistry, Materials Chemistry, or a related discipline, with particular experience in the development of materials for electrochemical energy conversion and storage. A track record in the development of ionic liquids and materials for batteries and supercapacitors is preferred. 

This is a full-time, fixed-term post and is available from October 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter, for a period of nine months.

Salary will be within the range £26,052 - £38,183 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.
