Detail information about job Research Associate in Industrial Exploitation of Laser-dyeing Processes for Apparel and Furnishing Textiles Markets (AHRC project). Terms and conditions vacancy

Part-time (0.5 FTE for a fixed 9 month period)

Applications are invited for the above Research Associate post to work on AHRC funded project for exploitation and implementation of laser-dyeing technique for apparel and furnishing textiles. We require a hard-working, self-motivated researcher with expertise and experience in the fields of laser processing and textile surface design and patterning. Some knowledge regarding textile materials, textile colouration and working experience with Life Cycle Analysis software for textile supply chains will be considered as advantage.

The research work to be performed will involve to (1) develop and performance-test prototypes incorporating the laser-dyeing technique on textiles, (2) develop new critical path and supply chain models based around the laser-dyeing technique and assess the potential of their implementation within textile sectors, (3) establish the environmental and economic impact of the laser-dyeing technique within the textile sectors.

You should have the following qualifications and experience:

A first- or upper second-class honours Bachelor's degree, and/or Master's or PhD degree in a relevant research area;

Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal;

Well-developed collaborative and inter-personal skills.

You will also be expected to perform any other duties commensurate with the job grade as reasonably required from time to time.
