The role of NDM Administrator is an exciting opportunity to contribute to new science initiatives in the Nuffield Department of Medicine. In this fast-track administration role you will initially work as part of the NDM Strategic team where you will gain a thorough understanding of the Department and its operations. In this introductory phase you will have opportunities for secondments from NDMS to administration posts across the Department. 

You will provide support in the establishment of new units, with the aim of becoming competent in the functional areas of finance and human resources, and taking a leading role in an administration team. Although the expectation is that you will be an established professional with considerable previous experience in a similar role in business management and strategy, additional training and support will be provided.

You will be educated to degree level in a business or related field. You will have demonstrable experience in administration and business management, gained within an academic or commercial environment along with significant experience of budget management. It is essential that you have experience of HR management, including recruitment and selection of staff, retention, performance management, and staff development, and a working knowledge of the scientific grant system and the major funding bodies. Strong verbal communication skills and a proven ability for report writing are prerequisites.

This position is available for a fixed-term of 2 years.
