International students are sponsored through the University’s Tier 4 Licence. As a Tier 4 sponsor, the University has a number of duties it must comply with for each and every Tier 4 student. We must be able to demonstrate to UK Visas and Immigration that we are compliant with these duties in order to maintain this significant area of the University’s business.                                  

The purpose of the job is to work as part of the Registry team dedicated to Tier 4 compliance. This will involve contact with students and staff on a daily basis to support and advise on a wide range of compliance related issues. The successful candidate should be a pro-active individual who is able to work on their own initiative, with minimum supervision and also in collaboration with the wider team to ensure Tier 4 compliance is maintained across the University Group. They will also contribute to the team’s aim of providing an excellent standard of service to Tier 4 students throughout their journey at Coventry University.

The Post holder will act as a dedicated compliance business partner to a faculty or campus, and will also develop policy and process to support the University’s compliance in the following four key areas:

i) Enrolment/ Document Management (File stream) and Tier 4 Licence status.ii) Visa complianceiii) Attendance monitoringiv) Student Record Management

Successful candidates will be expected to develop sound knowledge of the Tier 4 rules and the University’s academic regulations, as well as the functions and processes of wider Registry. It will be necessary to advise staff and students on these rules and regulations, therefore the post holder must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The role requires the development of effective working relationships with staff at all levels across different University teams, including the International Office and Faculty. Senior Registry Officers will be expected to establish personal and departmental credibility with staff and students, and to promote a positive and professional image of the team and wider Registry.
