Detail information about job Research Funding Officer. Terms and conditions vacancy

The Joint Research and Enterprise Office (JREO) provides a specialist research and enterprise service to both St George's, University of London (SGUL) and St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (SGFT). Uniquely placed across two organisations, the JREO’s remit covers research governance, grants, contracts, financial management, enterprise, consultancy and strategy. Recently organised into three sections – Research Governance & Delivery, Research Funding, and Enterprise & Innovation - the JREO plays a vital and pro-active role in enabling research and enterprise, working with funding bodies, NHS organisations and others to support academics and clinicians at St George’s.

As part of our newly structured Research Funding section, we have moved to a combined pre- and post-award grants team to provide better, more pro-active support for academics and a more seamless and flexible approach. We are seeking to recruit four Research Funding Officers, who will provide all aspects of grants support to a group of academics in one of our Institutes. Key elements of the role include grant applications advice (including costing), the review and acceptance of research funding awards and the on-going financial and other management of research grants and contracts. The jobs will involve working with a range of internal and external stakeholders, problem solving and trouble-shooting to ensure successful grant applications and an efficient post-award service.

The post holder will have gained research administrative experience in the Higher Education sector. The ability to communicate effectively at all levels is crucial, as are strong organisation and prioritisation skills.

The role represents an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to develop their skills, knowledge and their career in a supportive and dynamic environment.

The salary for this role is within the range of SGUL 6: £32,548 to £38,833 plus London Allowance of £3,027 per annum.
