Assistant International Student Support Officer (Maternity Cover)
Location: Llandaff Campus
Tenure: Fixed term for 12 months or until the post holder returns which ever date is sooner.
Hours: 37 Hours per week
Accountable to: International Student Support Manager
Role Summary:Cardiff Metropolitan University International Office is responsible for the marketing, recruitment, admissions, welfare, English language and study skills support of all non-EU students. There are approximately 1500 international (Non-EU) students at Cardiff Met from over 50 different countries.
The Post Holder will be responsible for providing an accessible welfare service to international students studying at Cardiff Met across five academic schools to aid students in adjusting to student life and unfamiliar UK procedures and to enhance their student experience.
The Post holder will also play a vital role in protecting Cardiff Met’s Tier 4 sponsor licence and Highly Trusted Status by counselling international students through the Tier 4 visa application process and minimising visa refusal rates
The post holder will be required to possess excellent oral and written communication skills in order to provide information to international students from outside the EU, university staff and external agencies and provide a high level of administrative support to international students studying at Cardiff Met.
