Detail information about job Administrator – Multiple Birth Centre. Terms and conditions vacancy

Location: City South Campus

At Birmingham City University, we are embarking upon an exciting expansion of our Faculty of Health, Education, and Life Sciences. We have a brand new building, a series of new programmes, and up to 1000 new students. To enable our ground-breaking strategy we need the right people to join our Academic Services Team. The Faculty is already established as an excellent provider of education, nursing, midwifery and allied health professions training. Over the next three years, starting September 2017, we will grow our academic and student community via the delivery of new programmes, such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, sport and exercise science, and will do this all in a brand new state-of-the-art building. Are you an experienced, professional, and tenacious administrator? Are you motivated by challenge, driven by innovation, and excited by new opportunities? If so then we want you in our team.

The Role

This role is an ideal first step into the exciting world of administration in Higher Education – or an excellent opportunity to build upon the relevant experience you already have. You will be providing a high quality, efficient and effective part time administrative support for the Multiple Birth Research Team. You will be organised and flexible, possess good written and verbal communication skills and you'll have experience of university administration. You’ll also act as a point of reference for the Multiple Birth Research Team, to anyone seeking advice on processes, as well as providing administrative support to a number of formal and informal meetings. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing initial prioritisation of incoming work whilst resolving day-to-day problems independently. They will make informed decisions within their area of responsibility, ensuring that agreed standards and targets are met. You will work with people at all levels and be expected to work autonomously, making recommendations to senior management.

The Person

You will need a degree level education (or equivalent experience) alongside proven administrative, IT and customer service experience within a complex environment. Experience in a student-facing role is preferable. Beyond that, your ability to act as a team player, to manage your workload and your excellent interpersonal and communication skills will be what sets you apart. This is a great opportunity for anyone who is self-motivated and wants to drive forward real change.

When completing your application, please ensure you attach a copy of your CV and a Covering Letter. You are advised to remove personal details from these documents, including your name.
