Detail information about job Research Associate in Geodesy. Terms and conditions vacancy

We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Researcher in Geodesy research to join the GlobalMass project (www.globalmass.eu). The primary aim of this project is to determine the factors influencing sea level rise, including glacio-isostatic adjustment, during the satellite era and, eventually, for the 20th Century by combining a range of satellite and ground-based observations within a statistical inference model.

This post requires a background in solid earth geophysics or geodesy. You should, ideally, have experience in the analysis and interpretation of GPS or satellite gravity data such as GRACE or similar geodetic measurement approaches. Knowledge of modelling or estimating glacio-isostatic adjustment and/or land hydrology would be advantageous. You must have good programming skills. This post is part of a five year European Research Council grant that includes four other positions tackling different aspects of the sea level budget.

There is funding for the post for 12 months in the first instance.

Interviews are likely to be held 2 weeks after the closing date, and the expected start date is December 2017. Informal enquires are welcome.
