The University of Manchester attracts the largest number of full-time on campus international students in the UK. Part of the prestigious Russell Group of universities, with outstanding facilities and the widest range of courses, we are highly respected across the globe as a centre of teaching and research excellence. The University is currently investing over £1 billion in the campus environment and facilities.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join the International Office team, to take forward a role in new business development. Reporting to the Head of International Office, the focus of the post will be to support increased recruitment activities in a variety of international markets. We would be particularly interested in candidates with significant experience of student recruitment from the Middle East/Africa or South Asia but will also consider candidates with expertise in other markets. Leading a small team, you will also be responsible for a portfolio of projects.

We are seeking a dynamic individual with excellent communication skills, strong analytical and data handling skills, and experience of working within and across institutional teams and networks.

The International Office sits within the Student Recruitment and International Development Division, which is an integral part of the University's Directorate for the Student Experience. The Division is responsible for supporting academic Schools and Faculties in identifying and attracting the highest calibre of students into all levels of study.

The post of Senior International Officer will require a considerable amount of international travel. Appointees must, therefore, be prepared to undertake such travel and to work outside regular office hours including weekends as necessary. The University operates arrangements to recognise this working pattern and to ensure an appropriate balance between working and non-working time.

As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. As we are committed to the principles of the Race Equality Charter Mark, we would particularly welcome applications from men and the black and minority ethnic (BME) community, who are both currently under-represented at this level. All appointments will be made on merit.
