The International Study and Language Institute (ISLI) delivers English for academic purposes and academic study skills development through a wide range of activities. These effectively support the University’s international students and the academic staff involved in their teaching and development.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced EAP practitioner/specialist to the role of Pre-sessional Programme Director (Summer Vacation).
Working as part of a close-knit team, the Pre-sessional Programme Director has two main areas of responsibility:
Leading and overseeing the academic development and operational management of the Summer Pre-sessional Programme, and contributing to its strategic development.
Teaching up to 10 hours per week from late September to April, in proportion to the other responsibilities of the role.
The successful applicant will work as Summer Pre-sessional Programme Director for four years upon appointment, after which they will be assigned other School-wide responsibilities.
You will have:
- MA TEFL/Applied Linguistics (or equivalent) and Teaching Diploma DELTA, PGCE (or equivalent)
- Proven ability to lead, manage and develop a diverse team of Course Directors and teaching staff and to work effectively with administrative and technical support.
- Ability to lead, manage and develop teaching programmes.
- Experience of curriculum development in EAP.
- Proven experience of teaching EAP to a range of nationalities and levels, preferably in UK HE.
