Detail information about job Professor Sir Richard Trainor PhD Scholarship. Terms and conditions vacancy
A scholarship has become available in the History Department at King’s College London under the Professor Sir Richard Trainor PhD Scholarship scheme.
The Professor Sir Richard Trainor PhD Scholarship Scheme was developed in celebration of an anonymous donation made in honour of the legacy of Professor Sir Richard Trainor, who left the university in 2014 after ten years as Principal and President.
King’s is delighted to celebrate Professor Trainor’s achievements and continue the university’s tradition of academic excellence by funding PhD scholarships in the Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences and Public Policy over three years.
The projects are:
- “Making the modern racehorse in Britain, c1920-2020”, with the National Horseracing Museum (supervised by Prof. Abigail Woods, [email protected])
Further details are available here http://www.kcl.ac.uk/study/postgraduate/fees-and-funding/student-funding/postgraduate-research-funding/richard-trainor-scholarships.aspx
We welcome applications from home, EU and international candidates seeking to undertake a full-time PhD programme at King’s with one of the advertised projects, who can demonstrate academic excellence and research potential.
Candidates are asked to submit a current CV and cover letter identifying which project they would like to be considered for explaining why they would be suitable. Two academic references must be received by the deadline for the application to be eligible.
Certain projects will require additional documentation, e.g. writing sample, details of which can be found within the project summaries via http://www.kcl.ac.uk/study/postgraduate/fees-and-funding/student-funding/postgraduate-research-funding/richard-trainor-scholarships.aspx
Documents should be emailed to [email protected] by 11:59pm on 30th September 2017 with the subject ‘RT Scholarship 1617 – [include relevant project title].’
Each scholarship will be worth £15,000 per year for a 3 year period and can be used to cover tuition fees and/or living costs, plus, where relevant, any additional contribution, financial or in-kind, provided by a partner organisation, details of which can be found by reading the individual project descriptions.
Applicants must be aware that this is a partial scholarship which will require the applicant to have additional funding in place to successfully complete it. Awards are granted on the understanding that the award-holder will take responsibility for any additional expenses incurred for the duration of study.
