The School of Engineering is seeking to recruit two teaching specialists in Civil Engineering who will help to develop exciting new approaches to teaching engineering across a range of subjects. Both Teaching and Scholarship positions will be within the Architectural, Civil and Environmental (ACE) Discipline at the Cardiff School of Engineering.The position requires some experience of innovative teaching methods in engineering, and to assist staff to develop exciting new approaches to academic teaching. Expertise in either water engineering, environmental engineering or building/civil engineering design would be essential. The candidates should be Chartered Engineers and be passionate about engineering and able to communicate this to a wider audience. It is expected that candidates will have extensive industrial links and should be able to further exploit the opportunities that exist to work with our industrial partners. Each candidate will be expected to: • deliver high-quality, practice-led teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level • contribute to the teaching, scholarship and engagement record of the School by working with industry and the Professional Institutions and engaging with HEA Learning and Teaching initiatives • achieve recognisable outputs in the areas of teaching, engagement, and industrial collaboration, commensurate with the School’s norms and • contribute to the enhancement of the national and international profile of the School by achieving recognisable impact upon the academic, commercial, and professional communities.Salary:

£32,548 - £38,833 per annum (Lecturer Grade 6) £41,212 - £47,722 per annum (Lecturer Grade 7) £49,149 - £56,950 per annum (Senior Lecturer Grade 8) These two posts are open-ended and are on a full time (35 hours per week) basis.
